Hello there! Yesterday I decided a little trip to Penny's was in order. At the minute I live in a part of Ireland that does not have a Penny's- or anything else for that matter. I live in a small town that basically consists of a street. So after a bit of a drive I went to Penny's to just grab a few bits and bobs, mainly cozy pajamas now that the weather has changed. However I had a few little impulse buys- though who can blame me? After all that is to be expected when a woman goes shopping.
First of all I picked up some cotton pads- boring I know, but the Penny's brand P.S. I Love You are so cheap! One euro for a massive pack of them! Then I had a little look around the cosmetics area. I tried to limit myself as it is coming up to Christmas and it's a time to be buying gifts for others and not oneself. (Yeah right!) So I only really came away with two items. An own brand lipstick and an eyebrow palette. The lipstick I picked up was a deep purple. I have been looking everywhere for a lipstick this shade! And for two euro this was a total bargain! It is a deep purple perfect for the autumn/winter months! All the shades I have found of deep purples have been more berry/red /brown toned and not what I was looking for, so I was really excited to try this! Unfortunately as you can see from the swatch, the lipstick wasn't exactly true to colour. It is more of a deep pinky purple rather than the deep block purple colour the lipstick suggests. All in all it is still a nice colour on the lips and very wearable for this time. The pigment is good and to my surprise it's very light on the lips and lasts an alright amount of time on.
After this I tried the eyebrow palette I got. It has three blocks in it- one brown wax and two shades of brown powder. It also comes with tweezers and a brush. The brush is useless I didn't even bother trying to use it as the bristles looked and felt so rough and all over the place, and the tweezers were very cheap and not really useable either. However the actual product I was pleasantly surprised with. The two shades are of a lighter brown with a slight auburn reddish undertone and then a cooler darker brown. I used the darker brown on my brows as i'm not a big fan of reddish tones in my own eyebrows and set it with the wax. It lasted all day and was nice. I wouldn't say it is a holy grail product for me but at two euro and fifty cent it is great value. I think i'll be using it quite a lot as a quick fix if i'm not especially trying with my 'brows.
I then purchased some individual lashes. I always stick to strip lashes and everyone is always raving on about how great individual lashes are and how easy they are to apply and how natural they can look but are also buildable for nights out. I haven't tried wearing these yet, but at one euro fifty cent it won't kill me if it doesn't work out. Finally I went to look at nails. Now as yous all know it's less than fifty days until Christmas!! I am so excited and decided to get two sets of festive nails! I love Penny's fake nails as they're so cheap (one euro fifty cent) and they really do they job! There were loads to chose from but I finally settled on these as I think they're so fun and cute and will look perfect closer to Christmas.
Well guys that's it for this post, thank you all for reading this far and I will be back soon!
